Junior Program Coaches

Laser Race Team Coach — Emerson Krock

Emerson grew up sailing at the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club in Belleville Ontario where he raced Laser 2's, 420s and Lasers. At BQYC he taught learn to sail for a year and coached their race team for three years. During his four years at McGill he sailed for the McGill Sailing Team, raced all over New England and was twice the MVP. Emerson started coaching the Laser team at RStLYC last year and is excited to be back for a second year.

Optimist Team Coach — Heather Myatt

Heather Myatt grew up sailing at the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club and went through the yacht club's Junior Sailing program beginning racing at 16 years old in 420s. Heather has raced extensively within Canada and in the United States in 420s as a junior and continues now in the 29er and keelboats. This is Heather's first year as the Optimist Development Team Coach and she is very excited to pass on her racing knowledge to the young team

Optimist Race Team Coach — Maxime Fecteau

Maxime grew up sailing at the Beaconsfield Yacht Club where he raced 420s. As a coach, he then went on to the École de voile de Lachine, where he developed a successful Optimist Race Team program from 2008 to 2010. Maxime has been coaching at the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club since fall 2010 and enjoys every single hour spent on the water with his young team. He has also accompanied one of the Canadian Optimist Dinghy Association (CODA) International Teams to the 2011 South American Championship in Chile, as assistant coach. As a racer, Maxime still sails competitively in Canada and in the United States with the McGill University Sailing Team, of which he is the President.
