I am pleased to announce that starting this summer, we will be working with Advantage Boating, Canada’s leading provider of Sail Canada® training, to provide their various sailing and boating courses. Established in 1992, Advantage Boating offers a full suite of marine-based education for sailors and power boaters alike, with locations in Ottawa, Kingston, Scrub Island in the BVIs, and now Montreal.
With Advantage Boating’s three-day, 21-hour Basic Cruising program, students will learn the skills and knowledge required to helm (steer) and/or crew on a sailboat of up to 30 feet in length. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to sail safely and efficiently, under sail or power, in moderate wind and sea conditions. Depending on their level of success in the course, graduates of this course will obtain either Sail Canada’s Basic Cruising Crew or Skipper Standard certification. Additionally, once they have passed the written exam, students in this Basic Cruising course will also obtain their Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate (PCOC).
The start dates of these three-day Basic Cruising courses are June 25th, June 28th, July 9th and July 12th, 2021.
