Destinations
The location of the RStLYC allows sailors who wish to go farther afield to access the St. Lawrence Seaway in less than 20 minutes. The St. Lawrence River provides access to the Atlantic Ocean or the Thousand Islands by the most direct route.
The Lake of Two Mountains is accessible through the Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue locks if the sailboat's mast does not exceed forty feet (please check with the lock). Taking down the mast makes the passage possible for larger yachts. From there, the waterway goes all the way to Ottawa.
Local areas provide easy access to quiet destinations within Lake St. Louis. Dowkers Island, just off Baie d’Urfé, has a small sheltered bay for an overnight stay. There is not much depth, but most boats can get in and use their chart and depth gauge. Further on, Ste-Anne-De-Bellevue is a fun destination with many pubs and restaurants right at the entrance of the locks.
